"My girlfriend has been in and out of hospitals her entire life - she was born with Cystic Fibrosis. In 2010, she underwent a double-lung transplant and had a 50/50 chance of living through the operation. She came out of it successfully. After the surgery, she then had an 80% chance of surviving the first five years, and thankfully we're already at year 6! Last week, however, she had a little setback and had to undergo emergency surgery. "When I saw Olivia walking with her father towards me, I got very emotional and my eyes started to water. I promised myself I wouldn’t cry, but at that point it was impossible not to. When they finally reached where I was standing, her father gave her away to me and I grabbed Olivia’s hands and held them tight. I took a deep breath and removed her blindfold. "When we got to the top of our "urban hike", the view was fantastic with the fog just starting to come in. We took a few selfies with the rolling hills of #SanFrancisco and the #Castro flag in the background. We admired the view for a few more seconds, and then I turned to Jeremy and said, "can we talk?" Tears immediately welled up in his eyes as I began to recite what I had planned. In the middle of it, Jeremy stopped me to say, "Is this what I think it is?" to which I responded "Yes, now let me finish..."" We LOVE how emotional these two are - you gotta see the end. "I met a boy in an elevator. Not just any boy, but a boy wearing a bright yellow shirt. After finishing up a long day touring the MBA program at Brigham Young University, a boy entered my elevator with seconds to spare. I didn’t even look up, I was "busy" staring at my phone when I heard him say hello. I turned my attention towards him and instantly smiled upon seeng his bright yellow shirt and cheerful face. He caught my attention. As we reached the ground level, we had discovered we both had ties to Annapolis, MD. We said our goodbyes and I thought that would be the end of it. Later that evening, though, I received a message via Instagram from that very same boy. The message went a little something like this: "Hey! It’s Morgan from earlier today in the elevator :) I noticed your name from the name tag you were wearing and instantly regretted not asking you for your number or anything after I left! "After an hour of paddle boarding, we arrived at a beautiful cove. John paddled to the shore, left his board on the rocks and called me over. Shortly after I pulled up to the rocks, John hopped on my board and began paddling us out away from shore with his hands. The wind started to pick up, however, and the waves were getting bigger and bigger so I told him to get off since we were wobbling everywhere (the water was ice cold and I didn't want to fall in). Poor guy swam all the way back to get his board, but before I knew it, he and his board had paddled right back up next to mine. When he got close enough, he asked me to put down my paddle and take his hand to help him balance. He held my hands and reminded me what an amazing four years we've spent together, how I bring out the best in him, and how much I inspire him. "I was on tour with my band for a few weeks and built everything for the proposal on the road and in between all our shows. It was quite the feat to do in the back of a tour bus, but well worth it of course. I'd also been writing Megan a letter for each of the days I was gone. They included memories from our years together, and the final one had a memory we'd not yet made. So, when I got back from the tour, I brought everything I'd made on tour to my barn and set it all up. There were mason jars with all the letters in them, lights everywhere, and a big sign that said, "Will You Marry Me". Then, on our way home from going to see the Annual Christmas Lights Show in our town, I told her I wanted to swing by the barn to pick something up...." "As I was carefully looking for a great spot for us to take a picture, Jerome took both my hands and started to well up with tears. He was trying to tell me how much he loved me and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, but he was so choked up. I of course was super confused, but then it hit me all at once like a ton of bricks. He dropped to one knee and opened a box with the most stunning ring ever. It was like the world stopped and all I could see was him (I know, cliché, but now I understand why people say it!). I was thrilled to finally be engaged to my best friend and soul mate..." "My boyfriend and I are in a band together, and we had a show one night that we were all excited about. After our set, the band and I headed backstage. The crowd was demanding an encore, but we had exhausted our entire catalogue of songs (or so I thought). The guys suggested running with it and doing a cover, so Jordan told me to "just play the tambourine". I thought I was about to humiliate myself but walked on stage anyways. When I got there, I saw rose petals on the ground and turned out to see that no one from the band had come with except for Jordan. Next thing I know, Jordan says "this is a new song" into the microphone and I immediately realized what was happening...." "Ryan told me he made reservations for us at a super nice restaurant for lunch, so we got dressed up, hopped in the car, and headed out the door. As we were driving, Ryan pulled off the road and told me there was a lookout he wanted to take me to. He led me down a path through the trees until we reached #EchoLake. Sitting there waiting for us was the sweetest canoe with a picnic basket inside. "It was a Tuesday afternoon. I was checking my messages on LinkedIn when all of a sudden, the “people you may know” section suggested I add an adorably cute woman named Sammy. I had nothing to lose, so I added her and she almost immediately accepted my request – she even endorsed me! I sent her a message thanking her and we began talking. We clicked right from the start and our chats soon turned into phone calls, and we would talk from 7pm until 7am the next morning. I’d get zero sleep but a stomach full of butterflies, and all I could think about during the day was the opportunity to talk to her again for hours.
